Saturday Night on the town

EVERY now and then, I feel compelled to return to urban themes, even though I'm a countryman at heart.

Monumental buildings, bright lights and masses of humanity often add up to interesting pictures.

This one is called Saturday Night, a time of the week when towns and cities come into their own.

Crowds scuttle back and forth to the clubs, cinemas and theatres, vehicles jostle for position at traffic lights, neon signs flash from on high. It's the night when everyone's in town to celebrate the end of the working week.

This picture was drawn entirely with gel pens and thick felt tips.
