Funtime with the green nippers

ONE of my family's great summertime pursuits in Cornwall is crab-catching at the famous Pandora Inn at Restronguet Creek.

My grandchildren love pulling green crabs out of the sea, counting them at the end of a two-hour session, then releasing them on to the beach, where they scuttle back beneath the waves.

This picture, Green Crab, pays due homage to the sporting nippers who provide so much fun for our family.

Our record catch to date is 147, but there is great rivalry between the children as they strive for an even bigger haul.

For those who might be interested, both the Amphibian and Green Crab images were produced during a single four-hour art session.
