Lord of the Dance

AFTER some coaxing from my children, I was finally persuaded to sit down and watch the 1987 'classic' movie Dirty Dancing, starring the late Patrick Swayze.

As 'classics' go, it was fair to middling, but not in the same universe as my personal favourites, Midnight Cowboy, Zorba the Greek, To Kill a Mockingbird, Lawrence of Arabia and Kramer v Kramer.

Nor did it come close to The Sound of Music, West Side Story or Lionel Bart's glorious Oliver.

But it was good enough to inspire me to get out the gel pens to scrawl this picture of dancers doing their stuff with a touch of Swayze swagger.

So here it is - Dirty Dancing.
