A picturesque smugglers' haven
POLPERRO is one of Cornwall's most scenic villages. It also has a remarkable history dating back to the 14th century featuring some truly fascinating characters, including 'The Smugglers' Banker' Zephaniah Job and the renowned naturalist and painter Jonathan Couch. Once best-known for outwitting the revenue men, Polperro is now a fishing village and popular tourist resort with five pubs - 'a drinking village with a fishing problem,' according to locals.
