Enjoying a touch of the Irish

WATCHING talented young dancers in Glasgow last week gave me the idea for this painting. My granddaughter was taking part in the World Irish Dancing Championships and we caught the train north to see her perform. It was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life.

High-kicking dancers from all over the world were on stage at Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall to impress a panel of judges. With their extravagant wigs and broad smiles, they were a joy to behold. It was a wholly uplifting experience.

This picture is called Irish Dancers, Glasgow 2018. If I were 60 years younger, I might even take it up myself. On the other hand, maybe not. Extreme exercise was never among my priorities, but I do like to see others showing off their skills.
