Inspired by artist Marc Chagall
REMEMBER what I said about line drawings? Well, here's another, created apropos of nothing in particular, but inspired by a drawing I saw by the inimitable Marc Chagall, the Russian-Jewish artist who made France his home and became one of the 20th century's most influential painters.
His drawing was of a huddled group, and it reminded me of the old chaps who gather at Falmouth Public Library every day to read the daily newspapers.
Hence, my drawing is called The Reading Room, and features a variety of characters who bear no resemblance at all to anyone I know.
However, in my view it has a certain charm.
