A Flowery Follow-up

SUCH was the response to my last still life (my niece wanted a copy to hang on her lavatory door) that I decided to produce another.

This explosion of colour and unerring draughtsmanship is called Flowers in a Red Pot, again a title somewhat lacking in originality but hard to fault for its honest simplicity.

Again, the Matisse influence is obvious, though I never consciously set out to emulate any of the masters. Their involvement is always subliminal. I remember what they do, then say to myself: Why shouldn't I do it, too?

I gather that anthropologist Desmond Morris sold one of his surrealist works for £850,000. This one is yours for £85 - however you look at it, a bargain.
