Colours of a continent
IN pursuit of my aim to produce more colour during this momentous year of 2020, I've been thinking of subjects which are colourful in their own right.
Circuses, fairgrounds, flower gardens, fashion parades...they're all set to be explored in art form over the next twelve months.
But one subject guaranteed to project an abundance of colour is a gathering of African women, especially if they're from Nigeria or other parts of West Africa.
This picture strives to reproduce not only the colour of their skin, and its many subtle variations, but also the ochres dug from the ground to dye their robes.
The title is simply African Women. Hope you like it.
