Struggling for the right phrase
AS one who has spent sixty years hammering typewriters and computer keyboards, I can be described as having something of an obsession with the writing process.
Since 'retirement' eleven years ago, I've written several books, a few booklets, countless blogs and enough e-mails to carry my word tally into millions.
It's inevitable, therefore, that the noble craft of writing should feature on this site from time to time. Just as inevitable is that it should become the subject of my Crazy Art.
This picture is called Paperback Writer (acknowledgments to John Lennon), and seeks to reflect the cluttered environment of the average working wordsmith. The grim look on his face probably reflects that feeling familiar to all word merchants, the struggle to find the right phrase.
